Term and Conditions

Terms and conditions applying to all work carried out with np electrical services

Please read the following terms and conditions clearly. These apply to all clients and contractors (some may vary for contractors, please see if stated)

These Terms & Conditions apply to all quotations, estimates, works undertaken, invoices issued and services provided by NP Electrical Services.

By accepting a quotation, issuing a works order, making payment, instructing NP Electrical Services to proceed, or allowing works to commence, the customer agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

1. Quotations

  • All quotations are provided free of charge unless otherwise stated.
  • Quotations are valid for the period stated on the quotation document (normally 30 days).
  • If a quotation expires before acceptance, a revised quotation may be required due to changes in material costs, supplier pricing or labour availability.
  • Quotations are based on the information available at the time of pricing.
  • Additional works identified before or during the project may require a Variation Order or revised quotation.
  • Unless specifically stated within the quotation, prices exclude decorating, plastering, making good, flooring repairs, joinery, building works and waste removal.
  • Removal of waste is not included unless specifically stated within the quotation.

2. Acceptance of Quotation

Domestic Customers

No work will be scheduled or undertaken until the quotation has been accepted and signed by the customer.

Acceptance of the quotation confirms agreement to the scope of works, costs and these Terms & Conditions.

Commercial & Contractor Customers

A valid purchase order or written works order must be issued before works commence unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3. Deposits

For domestic projects, a deposit may be required depending on the value and scope of the works.

  • Any domestic project exceeding £2,000 will require a 20% deposit before materials are ordered or works are scheduled.
  • For larger commercial projects, staged payments or deposits may be required depending on the project value, duration and material costs.
  • Any deposit or staged payment requirements will be clearly detailed within the quotation.

Deposits are used to secure labour allocation, purchase materials and cover any initial project costs.

4. Variations & Additional Work

If additional work becomes necessary during the project, NP Electrical Services will discuss the requirements with the customer before proceeding.

Any additional work not included within the original quotation will be charged separately.

A Variation Order or revised quotation will be issued where applicable.

No additional work will be carried out without customer approval unless required to make the installation safe.

Additional works may extend estimated completion dates.

5. Consumer Unit Replacements

When instructed to complete a consumer unit replacement, NP Electrical Services will offer an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) before works commence.

The EICR will be offered at a fixed cost based on the size and complexity of the property.

The purpose of the EICR is to identify any existing defects, safety issues or non-compliances within the electrical installation before replacing the consumer unit.

If the customer declines the EICR and instructs NP Electrical Services to proceed with the consumer unit replacement, any issues discovered during the installation that prevent the installation from being completed, tested and certified in accordance with:

  • BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition including current amendments)
  • Building Regulations (where applicable)

will require additional remedial works.

These works are not included within the original quotation and will require a separate Variation Order before they can be completed.

NP Electrical Services cannot complete certification or sign off the installation until all required remedial works have been completed.
